AB Cyclic  antidepressants  inhibit  reuptake  of  norepinephrine  and  serotonin,  block  sodium  channels,  and  antagonize  postsynaptic  serotonin  receptors.  They  can  produce  severe  toxicity  in  overdose.  Their  use  has  declined  as  newer,  safer  agents  have  been  developed.
