AB Mechanical  ventilation  consists  of  two  parts:  the  ventilator  and  the  delivery  device,  most  commonly  an  endotracheal  tube  (ETT).  Similarly,  there  are  two  parts  to  liberation  from  mechanical  ventilation:  reducing  and  then  eliminating  the  assistance  provided  by  the  ventilator  and  removing  the  ETT.
