AB Acute  tympanic  membrane  (TM)  perforations  maybe  caused  by  direct  penetrating  trauma,  barotrauma,  OM,  corrosives,  thermal  injuries,  or  iatrogenic  causes  (foreign-body  removal,  tympanostomy  tubes).  TM  perforations  are  occasionally  accompanied  by  injuries  to  the  ossicular  chain  and  temporal  bone.
