AB Muscle  weakness,  not  pain,  is  the  hallmark  feature  of  inflammatory  myopathies.  In  polymyositis  and  dermatomyositis,  the  muscle  weakness  is  typically  proximal  and  symmetric.  Inclusion  body  myositis  can  present  with  more  distal  end  asymmetric  muscle  involvement.
